Message From the President
Welcome to our website. As we begin a new year we are working hard at getting an updated website ready for its 2009 premiere! Along with a webpage facelift and reorganization in the coming months, we also have many exciting changes and initiatives underway that maintain our role as the leading organization in psychology specialty board certification. First, I am delighted to report that over the past year we have seen a 45% increase in our applications. While this is a great start, I anticipate that it is only the beginning of a period of unprecedented growth for our organization. During the past year we moved our central office to new quarters in Chapel Hill, NC, where we are positioned for this type of expansion, with an energetic and enthusiastic professional full-time staff under the direction of Dr. David Cox as the Executive Officer. Additionally, we have an incredible leadership group who are the professionals from across our 13 specialties that volunteer their time and energies on the Board of Trustees, the Specialty Boards of Directors, and the Specialty Academies. All of our central office staff and voluntary professional leaders are focused on promoting the value of the ABPP credential to the profession, the relevant constituent government, hospital, or legal systems, and most important the public consumers of our services. Read more... Winter 2008/2009 Executive Officer Report REMINDER: Please be sure to update your ABPP contact information with the new address and phone numbers. Relocation: We successfully relocated the office from Savannah, GA to Chapel Hill, NC the first week of August. The move went essentially without a hitch. The truck was loaded Tuesday, arrived Wednesday and the new offices were operational by Friday. We have not received any complaints about “downtime” and contrary to prior moves and our anxiety arising out of that history, no records or other materials were lost in the process. Read more...
