American Academy of Police & Public Safety Psychology

Welcome to The American Academy of Police & Public Safety Psychology!

Greetings,

I am honored to take on the role of President of the Academy and continue the legacy of academic programming that is culturally informed and dedicated to providing quality continuing education. By participating in our training programs, psychologists can stay current with the latest research and best practices in the field.  Our training programs are also designed to train the next generation of board certified police and public safety psychologists, aiding in their preparation for board certification and specialization.

We are excited to continue working with CONCEPT Professional Training to offer even more opportunities for professionals in the field to further their education and advance their practice.

Police and Public Safety Psychology is concerned with assisting law enforcement and other public safety personnel and agencies in carrying out their missions and societal functions with optimal effectiveness, safety, health, and conformity to laws and ethics.  It consists of the application of the science and profession of psychology in four primary domains of practice: assessment, clinical intervention, operational support, and organizational consultation.
